Tenshu Island

My team was comprised of me, a backend developer, a front-end developer and a 3D artist. As part of our course work our project had the goal to redesign/reimagine the game Tenshu General for mobile and create a working prototype.

On this team project, I was the sole Game Designer, UI/UX Designer, and 2D Artist, including texturing for the 3d objects in-game.

It was my first time designing a turn-based strategy game. Weeks were spent putting the rules to the test, and I'm incredibly proud of how much work went into creating something I'd never done before.

I created the initial flow prototype in Adobe XD. All of the game's 2D art and graphics were also created by me, with two versions of each component. The first version was used for the minimum viable product of the game. The second set of assets was created for the game's final edition in order to better match the feudal Japan theme.

Software used in this project: Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe XD.
